The 2019 round of Antarctic Science Bursaries will be open in January:

To help support those applying, the UKPN in coordination with APECS are running two webinar sessions. This will give applicants the chance to speak to people on the bursary panel (that review and award bursaries) as well as past recipients. This will be a great Q+A session and really give everyone the chance to get advice about their application.

A little information about the bursaries:
Bursary awards are intended to support the career development for promising early career scientists worldwide, working in any field of Antarctic science.
Grants of up to £6000 are awarded to extend the scope of an existing research project. Please note that this award is NOT offered to support work on an existing research project. It is intended to support a distinct extension activity, usually arising from previous work.
Eligibility for application for bursaries:
Grants are given to individuals and managed through their organisations. Applicants normally need to be enrolled in a PhD or employed as an early career researcher, with payment being to an institutional account.
Applicants can apply from anywhere in the world.
Early career researchers are eligible to apply for up to 10 years after their PhD.
