Rapporteurs seeked for EU-PolarNet workshop on Integrated Polar Observing System on 7th June

Dear all,

please find the opportunity below from Hannele Savela from the EU-PolarNet and INTERACT projects.

Best wishes,

Floor van den Heuvel

---------------------------------------------

Rapporteurs seeked to an on-line workshop on Integrated Polar Observing System on 7th June 2022 -Apply by Fri 3rd June!

The EU-PolarNet 2 project is seeking early-career researchers as rapporteurs to take minutes during the upcoming EU-PolarNet workshop "Recommendations towards an Integrated Polar Observing System", to be held on-line on 7th June 2022 at 13-18 CEST.

For an early career researcher, this provides a unique opportunity to participate and contribute to a process where the Arctic, Antarctic and Polar projects, organizations, and operators join together to co-design actionable policy-level recommendations towards an integrated polar observing system.

The note taking will take approximately two hours per rapporteur, working with the workshop organizing team and the session chairs. Cleaned and formatted notes should be provided to the workshop organizing team within three days from the end of the meeting. Due to the fast-moving and elaborate workshop discussions, it is preferable that rapporteurs have (1) a high command of the English language, (2) some prior experience as a rapporteur or of formal note taking, and (3) some knowledge of international Arctic, Antarctic or Polar organizations.

A short on-line meeting between the selected rapporteurs and the workshop organizing team will be held during the week prior to the workshop to go through the rapporteur duties and the format of notes taken.

The rapporteurs will be paid a 200 € fee after they have submitted the formatted notes to the organizers.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please send your one-page CV and a 500-word statement detailing your previous experience as a rapporteur and motivation no later than Friday 3rd June to the workshop coordination team member Hannele Savela, hannele.savela(at)oulu.fi.
