The 7th OSM and 5th YSM meetings will focus on "the Earth System Changes from the Past towards the Future". This conference aims to promote interdisciplinary scientific exchange and international collaboration, and to strengthen the connections between PAGES communities. By integrating various spheres of the Earth's system, this conference will illustrate the changes in the key components of the Earth's surface system (air, water, ice, land, life, society, etc.) across timescales, with the ultimate goal of improving predictions for future climate and environment.

The Horizon Europe project "Integration of biodiversity monitoring data into the Digital Twin Ocean" (DTO-BioFlow) has launched an Open Call for marine biodiversity data offering up to 60,000€ for institutions that manage marine biodiversity data. This call is for marine biodiversity data holders who can contribute to the DTO-BioFlow project by establishing ingestion pipelines to the EU DTO and thereby increasing the flow of relevant biodiversity data. This Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) grant can provide support to do so, by funding resources as well as facilitating a data training workshop for the selected applicants.

EDITO's Call for Ocean Twinning Projects Across Europe

The European Digital Twin Ocean (EDITO) has invited ocean twinning projects and national initiatives across Europe to become part of its platform. Led by EDITO-Infra, this call aims to strengthen the European Digital Twin Ocean. Selected applicants will be showcased at the Digital Ocean Forum 2024. The call for Expressions of Interest is a key step in EDITO's roadmap to engage the EU's diverse digital ecosystem in the development of the Digital Twin Ocean. The aim is to foster interoperability efforts and shape the features and visibility of the European Digital Twin Ocean.

M.A.R.E Invites Early Career Researchers to Sail the Mediterranean Sea

Within the scope of the M.A.R.E. (Marine Adventure for Research & Education) project, born in 2022 from an initiative of the Centro Velico Caprera (CVC) in collaboration with One Ocean Foundation as a scientific partner, and now at its third edition, the Foundation is offering the possibility to students and young researchers from international universities to sail on board the catamaran ONE and carry out their research activities in the western Mediterranean Sea. This opportunity is designed for university students who intend to do a dissertation, a bachelor's/master's thesis on the data collected during the M.A.R.E. project 2024 or researchers who intend to produce a scientific publication.

Call for abstracts for IMBeR IMBIZO7

The Integrated Marine Biosphere Research (IMBeR) will hold its seventh IMBIZO (the Zulu word for 'a gathering') at the Institut Agronomique et Vétérinaire Hassan II (IAV) in Rabat, Morocco from 23-26 September 2024. IMBeR aims to promote and enable transdisciplinary marine research towards ocean sustainability and its governance. Topics addressed during IMBIZO7 will showcase current and emerging research, and explore potential solutions towards sustainable ocean governance by 2030 - the target of multiple global sustainability initiatives.

The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI), a Centre of Excellence in Marine and Maritime Research, Innovation and Technology Development, established in Larnaca, Cyprus since 2019, is interested in establishing an EU-funded ERA Chair with a prospective ERA Chair holder (M/F) who should be an outstanding researcher and/or innovator in a chosen scientific domain relevant to CMMI' activities. The scientific field can be any domain of marine or maritime research and innovation, including but not limited to marine technology, marine sciences and marine social sciences. ERA Chair holders can be citizens of any country in the world.
