Fwd: FW: Zooplankton course in August

Dear UKPN,

Please see below for details of a course in Arctic Zooplankton at UNIS this summer. I did the same course (but without all the very exciting new technology) there in 2012, and can really recommend it. As with all UNIS courses, no tuition fees. Suitable for Masters and PhD level students.

Thanks,

Laura Hobbs.

Dear all

Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you think might be interested.

I just want to draw attention towards a UNIS course that has a deadline for applications on April 15th:

It is a MSc and PhD course (note that there are two course codes - 320 for MSc and 820 for PhD students) in Arctic zooplankton ecology. The course starts Friday 12th of August.

This year, the course will be an exceptional event, with a very special field campaign in Kongsfjorden that involve many different sampling platforms -  everything from traditional net sampling to acoustics, ROV, drones and a remotely operated surface vehicle (attached news article, in Norwegian only). The curriculum will be aimed at zooplankton and marine ecology, but it will off a unique opportunity for students to gain experience from using multiple platforms / sampling techniques.

As with all courses at a Norwegian university, there are no tuition fees. All teaching is in English. Please read more at unis.no and feel free to contact me with questions.

yours, jørgen
