UKPN committee open positions

Dear UKPN members,

first of all: all the best for the new year 2022!

even though the committee year is already well underway, we (still) have a few positions open on the committee for this year (2021-2022):
  • Outreach Officer (Schools)
    • We are looking for an individual to join our education and outreach team with a focus on school visits and school outreach programmes. The role is perfect for someone currently teaching and looking for contacts and networking opportunities with the community of polar scientists in the UK.
  • Pint of Science organiser
    • We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to organise our Polar Pint of Science event - an informal series of interesting talks by researchers. Usually in a pub setting, though online in the past years. Hopefully this year we can take on the challenge of organising hybrid events.
  • International Collaboration Officer (Northern Hemisphere)
    • If you have heard of Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), have been involved with any of the working groups or committees, and interested in international collaboration - this role is for you. As a part of APECS we are looking to strengthen existing connections and build new relationships with other national committees based all over the world and we need a motivated and proactive committee member to facilitate this. Participation in international conferences will likely be a part of the role if the candidate is interested!
Just send an email to president@polarnetwork.org if you're interested.

Best wishes,

Floor
