See here for a great opportunity with the Software Sustainability Institute for their fellowship program for next year. As a 2018 fellow I used some of my funds to run our recent polar software workshop and from my experiences I can't recommend the fellowship enough- you build a great network of other fellows (half the speakers at the workshop were other SSI fellows) and the best part is you don't even have to be good at software, you just need to want to improve practices in your community!
If you're interested in applying feel free to get in touch, especially as this year the SSI have mentioned that they're interested in new fellows carrying on the work of previous fellows- so if you're willing to build on the event I had this year (see here if you weren't able to make it) it could make a strong application. Applicants can come from any field/ career level/ level of software expertise as long as you're based at a UK institution.
