Field assistance for a hydrological research project in Iceland

Dear UKPN

Field assistance is needed for a PhD project looking at the implications of glacial fluctuation on shallow proglacial groundwater systems. Assistance is needed between 6 July - 1 August, but shorter periods can also be considered. The fieldwork is based in SE Iceland. Accommodation will be camping, of which some will be in at the large Skaftafell camp site and some wild camping at Skeidararsandur. Main tasks are sampling and monitoring of groundwater and surface water bodies (rivers, lakes and seeps). Assistance on the project provides great experience in fieldwork and the assistant can also conduct its own research in conjunction. Food and camping costs will be covered by the project. Some assistance might be available for travel.
