Hi all,
I’m looking for volunteers to help out with the activities we are running at festivals this year. They’re great opportunities to interact with the public, while hopefully being a lot of fun too!
1. Saturday 16th March 2019 – Southampton Science and Engineering Festival (SOTSEF)
a. Running three activities titled ‘polar puzzles’, aimed at all ages, and bringing in research that is being done at Southampton University about the Arctic.
b. Activities already mostly decided, just need help on the day.
c. Southampton undergrads and postgrads preferred to help, but others always helpful
d. All day event
2. Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th July 2019 - WOMAD
a. Fitting into the physics side of this ‘world’ based festival
b. Still in the planning stages, but looking at 2 activities and a couple of talks. Activities will be physics and polar based.
c. Any extra volunteers we can amass will be much appreciated by the organisers, and if they like you, recycled into the other super exciting activities they are running
d. They want us to have volunteers with a physics background (some oceanography, maths etc. is fine)
e. Only working 12-6pm every day, so the rest of the time you can enjoy the festival!
f. Camping, tents provided if necessary

I will be storing the responses for now, and forwarding the ones interested in WOMAD to their organisers. After this, they will be deleted.
