Explorer school visit - second volunteer opportunity

Happy new year everyone!!!

An exciting opportunity to take part in a school visit to st.cross primary school in Hoddesdon (north London, between Stevenage and Epping) has come up. See the email below. They’re very keen, and the kids keep asking when they will get to meet a ‘real explorer’ so we really don’t want to let them down.

We have one volunteer (thanks Jennifer) from the UKPN, but be great to have a wing man (or lady ;) ), to help, and give the school the chance to meet two polar scientists.

It’s really a case of just going into the school, sharing some pictures and stories from your fieldwork/work. Be great to have one from someone who’s been in the field in a polar environment. School will cover the transport costs, so no worries there J

Please get in touch with us as: education@polarnetwork.org if you can help, as we’d like to sort a visit out in the next couple of months.

Thanks gang J

Good day

I hope this email finds you well?

We have taken great joy in planning, designing and creating our flags for Antarctica. We have sent them off and are looking forward to seeing them arrive in Antarctica. Our topic this term has been about cold climates so this has been a super link for us. Since we are studying cold climates and I saw on your site that we could potentially have a visit from an explorer,I was wondering if that would be possible?

Please do let me know if we can arrange something.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards

Tahlia Wilson
