Postcolonical Arctic Social Drinks in Leeds + Bonus Travel Writing Workshops

Polar Early Career Researcher Social Drinks @ Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen in Leeds on Thursday 29th May at 7.30 pm.

 

You are welcome to attend a great networking opportunity held by the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) and the HERA Arctic Encounters research project at the University of Leeds School of English. This social event, organised by APECS, will be a prelude to the Postcolonial Arctic conference being held at the University on 30th and 31st May. The event is aimed at conference-goers, early-career researchers and students and anyone interested in learning more about APECS and the UK's Polar Network.

BONUS TRAVEL WRITING WORKSHOP!

 

Although the Postcolonial Arctic conference itself is already full, the Arctic Encounters team is hosting a one-day workshop on how to break into travel writing on Sunday, 1 June. Present will be the editor of Lonely Planet Magazine, explorer-turned-writer Kari Herbert as well as several professional travel writers and journalists. Registration (online) is necessary and there is a fee of £80 (£50 concessions).
