Hi everyone,
LAS theatre are a company that create interactive shows where the
audience can get involved, interact with scientists and debate about
science issues.
They ran a very successful event in Edinburgh where the audince could
make choices about what would happen if the city was infected with a

Their next show is based around water security. Set in a future world,
the audience will act as agents from a water security organisation, 'New
Atlantis', meet scientists from different areas and look at things like
amphibious vehicles and ice in the polar regions- which is where I hope
that some of you will get involved! The plan is to have one area of the
venue dedicated to the polar regions- what we show in that area is still
up for debate, possibly ice cores, something around sea level rise or
ice shelf collapse. This is especially exciting as we have the chance to
choose what science we want to get across so if you're keen to come and
do some different outreach or have any ideas let me know. They have got
designers on board to help bring our ideas to life and possibly a
documentary maker too.
I've attached the outline of the show (it will be early December, exact
dates tbc) as well as something from their upcoming show to demonstrate
the kind of things that take place. One of the things that really struck
me about the person from the company I've been talking to is that
they're really keen to make sure that the scientist get something out of
it- so even if you've not done outreach before this is a really great
way to get involved.
