Fwd: UK Sea ice group meeting 2017: dates and deadlines

Dear UKPN,

See below for the announcement regarding this year's UK Sea Ice Group Meeting in Cambridge, attached to the Multi-Scale Se Ice Modelling workshop.

Please contact Danny Feltham (cc'ed) if you would like to attend the Meeting.

Best regards

TJ

----------------------------------------------------

This year's UK Sea ice group meeting will take place at the Isaac Newton Institute in Cambridge as part of the 4 month programme on Mathematics of sea ice. The UKSI group meeting will take place on Friday 15 Sept on the final day of the workshop "Multi-scale modelling of ice characteristics and behaviour" (http://www.newton.ac.uk/event/sipw01). One advantage of running the UKSI group meeting as part of this workshop is that we can benefit from the attendance of many international sea ice scientists (Ken Golden, Elizabeth Hunke, Vernon Squire,…).

I expect (hope) that those of you attending the UKSI meeting will also attend the whole of the Multi-scale workshop (11-15 Sept).

If you wish to attend the whole Multi-scale workshop then you should register for it by 11 June at http://www.newton.ac.uk/event/sipw01. If you are staying for the whole workshop then the Isaac Newton Institute can help with accommodation.

If you wish to attend only for the UKSI group meeting, then you should email both programmes@newton.ac.uk and myself (d.l.feltham@reading.ac.uk) by 10 July. Note: in this case the Isaac Newton Institute cannot book accommodation for you.

If you wish to give a presentation in the UKSI group meeting, regardless of whether you are attending the whole Multiscale workshop or just the UKSI meeting, you should email me your suggested title, abstract, and preference for talk or poster by 10 July. Once I have a list of potential presentations, I can make up the programme of talks, posters, and discussions.

Lastly, this email has gone to the latest UKSI group mailing list, which comprises everyone who has previously attended, or showed interest in attending, a UKSI meeting plus a few others I am aware of. Please feel free to pass this onto anyone else you think may be interested and let me know if you wish to be added or subtracted from the email list.

Best wishes,
Danny.
