Two PhDs in Physical Geography at Newcastle University

 

Dear Colleagues,

 

We have a number of PhD studentships available in Physical Geography at Newcastle University through the Newcastle Research Excellence Academy (REA), where we have been successful in securing full funding for 2 PhD students starting in September 2017. The deadline for applications is the 13^th JANUARY 2017. The available projects under this scheme are:

 

Holocene methane cycling in high-latitude lakes (Ref: GPG01)

 

Prehistoric impacts on aquatic food webs: assessing the role of wetland settlements in shaping lake ecosystems (Ref: GPG02)

 

Ice-debris interactions in the Annapurna Himalaya (Ref: GPG03)

 

Ice, water and Mars: investigating glacio-fluvial activity and landforms on the Red Planet (Ref: GPG04)

 

Polar landslides as a source of bioavailable iron (Ref: GPG05)
