Deadlines are fast approaching for the next batch of RGS-IBG grants, including the following awards:
  • Gino Watkins Fund Awards                                                                                                   31 January
Up to £4,000 towards expeditions that aim to improve knowledge of the polar regions
  • Monica Cole Research Grant                                                                                              3 February
£1,000 for a UK-based physical geography undergraduate or Masters student undertaking original fieldwork overseas
  • Henrietta Hutton Research Grant                                                                                    3 February
£500 for UK-based undergraduate or Masters students undertaking overseas field research as an individual or as part of a team
  • Frederick Soddy Postgraduate Award                                                                            3 February
Up to £6,000 to support UK-based PhD students carrying out research on 'the study of the social, economic and cultural life of a region'
  • RGS-IBG Small Research Grants                                                                                      3 February
Up to £3,500 for UK-based early career researchers conducting original desk or field-based research in any area of geography
  • RGS Explore Grants                                                                                                              15 February
Up to £5,000 to support UK-led teams undertaking overseas expeditions and research, including student teams
£1,000 for teacher-higher education teams for the creation of teaching materials
