The London Polar Group will introduce All Things Sea Ice at this event taking place just after the 2022 Arctic sea ice extent minimum.

About this event

We present a series of 4 short presentation and a panel on:

1. A new documentary on polar explorer Amundsen presented by the director Georges Tombs.

2. The launch of a project to assist with safe travel in Inuit Nunangat with the project lead and participation from our SmartIce Inuit social enterprise presented by Emma Liu.

3. The publication of a Nature paper showing how we can now measure sea ice thickness from space presented by Michel Tsamados.

4. This year's Arctic sea ice extent minimum and what it means presented by Julienne Stroeve.

Note that all participants will be provided with a link to view the award-winning geographical/environmental studies film "The Blinding Sea" about polar explorer Roald Amundsen.
