Call for two UKPN Outreach Officers 2022-2023

Dear UKPNers and not only,

It's that time of year again! We're looking for two Outreach Officers (Events and Festivals) on our 2022/23 committee. We welcome a diverse range of people and all you need is enthusiasm! PhD students, post-docs, masters students and non-academics are all happily accepted.

The Outreach Officer (Events and Festivals) is responsible for planning and delivering public facing events on behalf of the UK Polar Network. If you are a highly organised individual with an interest in working with volunteers and sharing polar science with the public, then this role is for you! The workload is typically heightened once every three months in line with event planning timelines and there are opportunities to travel within the UK. See https://tinyurl.com/3ra3p3z8 for more details.

Being part of the UKPN is the perfect way to expand your polar network, hear of unique opportunities first, develop your skills, help other early career researchers, and – of course – it's a load of fun. The UKPN is present at national and international events alongside local officials, governments, and leading scientists.

The role has handover notes from the previous volunteers, and the committee is on hand to support.

Please apply via the form https://tinyurl.com/3a9dk8zj by 21st August 2021.

We are looking forward to receiving your applications!
