School visit - Polar explorer programme

Dear all,

Are you a polar enthusiast and interested in visiting a school in Dronfield (Derbyshire), to do a little bit of outreach? Whether you’ve visited a school in the past or not, this is a great opportunity to tell some of your stories and get young people interested in the polar regions. And if you’re worried about what you would do there, we have loads of resources and can point you in the right direction. This will only need a little planning and a morning or afternoon of your time, and can be fitted around your schedule.

The students are in year 5, and they have already been learning about the poles so are very eager to get someone who has visited the regions. I think meeting real ‘polar experts/scientists’ at this age leaves a lasting impression and can really shape their futures, so it’s is an important opportunity.

If interested, please email education@polarnetwork.org.

Thanks,

Holly
