E&O Opportunity: Reddit Science AMA Sep 20

Dear UKPN,

We at UKPN have partnered with USAPECS across the pond to host an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit Science, on the 20th September 2015! This will be one of the events that will make up international Polar Week (18-24 September 2015), and we're looking for a few UKPNers to participate and answer people's questions about polar science and research.

Most of you may already know and use Reddit, but for those who don't, Reddit is often described as the "front page of the internet". AMAs (Ask Me Anythings) are threads that host experts on specific topics that reply to questions posed by other "redditors". Science AMAs are hugely popular (hosting people like Steven Hawking, Monsanto, etc) generate quite a lot of [internet] traffic of up to thousands of comments, so this will be a great way to help spread the importance of polar science, and also your research across the world!

If you're interested in participating, please let us know by replying to me <tj.young@polarnetwork.org> by the end of next week: 12 September 2015. All you need is a passion about polar science, and a laptop/smartphone with reliable internet. Looking forward to "redditing" with you!

TJ
