As part of the 80th birthday of Port Lockroy and 30th anniversary of the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust, we’re offering the opportunity to send a limited edition postcard with a personalised message from Antarctica. For eight decades the basic wooden hut known as Bransfield House, home to the world's southernmost post office at Port Lockroy, has endured winter after winter but with reducing sea ice we are seeing heavier snowfall. We need your help to fix and stabilise the roof above the historic bunkhouse of this special building. You can help to support the conservation efforts by sending your very own Postcard from Antarctica this year. We need to raise over £50,000 to enable the conservation efforts this season. Click on the link to play your part in Antarctica by sending a postcard for £20, making a donation or sharing this story with your contacts. Thank you. |
