(Paid Opportunity) - Part time research position

Hi all,

The All Party Parliamentary Group for the Polar Regions is currently looking for a research specialist to support their work.

Where: Remote and Westminster

Salary: £60/half day, plus travel expenses for events

Commitment: ~ 1 half day per week, rolling contract

Application deadline: 3rd July, 2023

The role is ideal for someone currently in a research program (i.e. PhD or MRes candidate), although not essential. It would suit someone who is interested in gaining experience with government processes and wants to explore non-academic career options.

Deadline Extension (9th June) Fieldwork Training Opportunity

Hi all,

The UK Polar Network has extended the deadline to apply for the free training course for polar early career researchers! Find more details on the project here: https://www.cleanplanet.com/peninsula

The course is aimed at individuals who have no or little experience working in remote places. It will be an in person course situated in Dartmoor taking place over the first week of August 2023. The content will range from practical physical skills and basic safety, to science communication and research planning.
